Hummingbird skills exceed human understanding

Have you ever seen a hummingbird crash? I doubt it. The little birds are some of nature’s most impressive fliers. Based on new experiments conducted in wind tunnels, scientists report that the animals can maintain almost perfect body position in conditions so turbulent that researchers couldn’t even keep a drone in the air. Popular Mechanics says the researchers equate this kind of skill to writing a letter in flawless cursive while going off-roading … with g-forces equal to your own body weight. The feat is so impressive that researchers are still scratching their heads, struggling to understand how a creature with such a small brain can achieve such perfect stabilization.
