Bioethicist inspires prime-time TV show

Whenever television news shows need a bioethicist, Arthur Caplan of New York University Langone Medical Center in New York City typically gets one of the first calls. Now he, or more accurately an actor representing him, may have his own TV show. Variety reports that CBS has commissioned a pilot for a drama about a bioethicist that’s inspired by Caplan’s career. “The story follows a brilliant bioethicist who is called in at crisis moments to solve the most complicated, dynamic and confounding medical issues imaginable,” the publication reports.
