This Week's Tornadoes Were Nothing Out of the Ordinary

This week, tornadoes have struck multiple states, including Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. Although most people imagine tornadoes swirling through just the plains states, they can actually hit a broad area of the eastern United States, National Geographic reports. As destructive as the twisters were, a researcher at the National Severe Storms Laboratory says this week’s hits have been “nothing outlandish” and are on par with what’s expected 10 to 15 days out of the year.
