Soon, You Can Be James Bond, Too

When James Bond is poisoned while playing a high-stakes poker game in Casino Royale, all seems lost—but a nifty device saves the day when it identifies the toxic substance and alerts his headquarters, which notifies the fictional British Secret Service agent of a remedy. Such a device is no longer fiction, according to researchers who have developed LABONFOIL. The lab-on-a-chip has multiple capabilities, including diagnosing colon cancer, analyzing food for viruses or bacteria, and detecting cocaine consumption. Gizmag reports that the data can be sent to a computer, tablet, or smartphone, making them immediately available to distant experts, doctors, and other interested parties.
