Patient Gets a 3D-Printed Skull

A custom, 3D-printed skull that replaced a majority of a woman’s cranium was successfully implanted by a team of doctors in the Netherlands, Gizmodo reports. The patient—who suffered from a rare disorder—had a skull bone that was more than three times the normal thickness, leading to severe headaches and loss of eyesight because of increased pressure on the brain.
