Prehistoric Village Discovered in Downtown Miami

Archaeologists have uncovered a prehistoric Native American village concealed beneath a vacant lot amid towering Miami skyscrapers. The Huffington Post reports the site dates back possibly 2000 years and was home to the Tequesta, a Native American tribe that was living in the area at the time. Developers had hoped to turn the lot into a hotel and movie theater, but those plans are now on hold.
