As scientists near completion of their degrees, they face the question of what to do next. The Flagship VentureLabs Fellowship program offers an unusual opportunity for those interested in learning about entrepreneurship and commercialization. Sponsored by Flagship Ventures, a venture capital company in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the fellowship provides a 12-week paid internship that allows fellows to “gain hands-on experience in Flagship VentureLabs' approach to company conception, innovation and entrepreneuring” and, perhaps, “ultimately produce exciting new ventures,” according to the program’s website.
Applicants must be graduate, medical, or similar students with a “[d]eep scientific or business background aimed at life sciences” and demonstrated interest in innovation and entrepreneurship. They must be close to receiving their degrees.
The next program will begin in September. Fellowship and application information can be found here.
