HIV/AIDS: Latin America and CaribbeanIn a free special section in the 28 July 2006 issue, Science correspondent Jon Cohen looks at the shape of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Latin America and the Caribbean, the overlapping forces that have driven the spread of HIV in the region and the different ways the countries are fighting back. In addition to the articles in the journal, Science and Biocompare have prepared a special video presentation with interviews, maps, and film clips related to the HIV/AIDS situation in these regions. And Science has also assembled a photo essay featuring the work of photographer Malcolm Linton, with commentary by Jon Cohen, that shows the human face of the disease. Science is making this important reporting and accompanying multimedia features free to all visitors to this Web site.
