Antonio Lazcano, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Antonio Lazcano, author of this month's essay, is a biology professor at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City and has studied the origin and evolution of life for more than 30 years. An academic deeply committed to public education, he has devoted considerable efforts to scientific journalism and teaching, and has served as Professor-in-Residence or Visiting Scientist in France, Spain, Cuba, Switzerland, Russia, and the United States.
