Zoo animals predicted Brazilian World Cup victory

Zoo animals saw it coming first—a sea turtle in Brazil and a panda in China correctly predicted Brazil’s victory in the opening game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The sea turtle, named Big Head, swam toward a goal marked with the Brazilian flag, while Ying Mei the panda scarfed down food from a box marked with the Brazilian flag over one with the Croatian flag, BBC News reports. Yet Chinese officials worry that involving panda cubs in these games exposes them to too much human contact when spectators flock to the scene. They have banned cubs at China’s Chengdu research center from future “predictions.”
