Should We Make Test Tube Meat Factories?

We've produced test tube meat on a micro scale, but should we take it up a notch and create in vitro meat factories? Researchers at Wageningen University in the Netherlands are proposing a device that can create enough “cultured beef” to feed a village of 2650 people, Discovery News reports. Their study, published in the June issue of Trends in Biotechnology, describes how the biggest obstacle for implementing a factory is the price tag: It would cost about $240 for every 453 grams of meat produced. Though the real question is, how many people would actually eat it?
