Human ancestors had Neandertal-like ear

An ancient human found in China has an inner ear that’s quite similar to a Neandertal’s. The finding, described online this week in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, may suggest that Neandertals migrated and bred with species of archaic humans in China. But researchers are saying not to jump to any conclusions; the discovery may simply mean that certain inner ear features were not unique to Neandertals, The Huffington Post reports.
