How to make a healthy hot dog

Scientists are closer than ever to creating a delicious hot dog that won’t leave you feeling guilty. Most mouthwatering franks are made with pork fat, but researchers in Spain are constructing one using olive oil instead. By doing so, the calories drop by about 36%, healthy unsaturated fats are added in, and, best of all, the texture of the dog remains similar to those made with pork fat. The up-and-coming frankfurters are described in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
