Here's Why Cheaters Are More Creative Than You

Breaking the rules may not be all that bad. A pair of researchers has proposed that deceitfulness may lead to creativity because both depend on people feeling unconstrained by rules and thinking outside the box. In a study published this week in Psychological Science, the two scientists describe giving people the opportunity to behave dishonestly, by lying about test results, and finding that those who did cheat were subsequently more original in tasks that measured creativity.
