First 3D Pterosaur Eggs Found

Up until now the fossil record of pterosaurs, the flying reptiles that soared alongside dinosaurs, has been rather poor. However, a trove uncovered by paleontologists in northwest China is home to hundreds of well-preserved pterosaur bones that will help boost our knowledge of the creatures. The discovery, described online today in Current Biology, includes the first three-dimensionally preserved eggs and at least 40 male and female adults. The find indicates that the flying reptiles were sociable and lived together in large colonies, Reuters reports.
