Computer charts evolution of the Beatles

Researchers have created an algorithm that can track the changes in the Beatles’ music over time, Lawrence Technological University reports. The algorithm analyzed 11 songs from each of the band’s albums released in Great Britain. By looking for patterns of similarity between individual songs and albums, the algorithm successfully placed each album in chronological order. The researchers also analyzed albums by the popular bands Queen and ABBA, to the same effect.
