Caribbean reefs may vanish in 20 years

Coral reefs in the Caribbean may completely vanish in the next 20 years, BBC reports. The underwater habitats have rapidly declined by more than 50% since the 1970s because of overfishing and disease, according to a report from the International Union for Conservation of Nature. But there is still some hope. Experts say that certain steps, like protection from excessive pollution and overfishing, could help the reefs make a comeback.
