3.5 million may be at risk from humanmade quakes

Humanmade earthquakes could affect as many as 3.5 million Americans this year, according to BuzzFeed News. Earthquakes caused by human activities, such as injecting pressurized wastewater from drilling back into the ground, have become almost 10 times more common than they were 20 years ago. Using data from a new U.S. Geological Survey report, BuzzFeed mapped areas that could be at risk in the next year, along with sizable earthquakes that have taken place since 2000.
