More than 700 species are already feeling the strain from climate change

Climate change is happening now and it may be hurting more than 700 species of threatened or endangered mammals and birds, with primates being some of the worst affected, according to research published in Nature Climate Change. The analysis reviewed 130 studies, which looked at the impact of global warming on various species, and from these studies created a model estimating how climate change may already be affecting threatened and endangered birds and mammals, Live Science writes. Without including other species, the study may only scratch the surface of climate change’s impact on the animal kingdom. But it’s not the first to suggest we might be underestimating current threats.
