Need a little stardust in your life? Maybe try the roof. Scientists examining debris collected from rooftops across Oslo found evidence that a small amount of it may have come from space, according to Ars Technica. After sifting through 300 kilograms of debris, researchers isolated micrometeorite candidates based on shape and magnetic properties and found some that contained chemicals rare to Earth, they report in Geology. Admittedly, it won’t be easy to find these particles on your own, but you can keep tabs on other amateur meteorite hunters through Project Stardust, whose founder inspired the research.
