Pokémon Go could add extra years to your life

Pokémon Go users could live longer, research suggests, meaning you’ve got more time to catch ‘em all. The study, published on the preprint server arXiv, shows that if used consistently, playing the game could add a collective 2.825 million years to U.S. users’ lives. A collaborative effort between Stanford University and Microsoft Research used search engine data and information from Microsoft Band users from the first month following the augmented reality game play app’s release to find that highly engaged users increased their activity by 25%, GeekWire reports. Sustained activity over time is crucial to noticeable health improvements and many places, however, have reported user engagement is in decline.
