VANCOUVER, CANADA—What strange creatures live at the bottom of the ocean? How have these organisms adapted to the deep, dark depths? And what are their future prospects in a world experiencing rapid climate change? Science’s Kerry Klein speaks with Bruce Shillito and Sven Thatje about their efforts to study these deep-sea creatures, which were highlighted here as part of a session on ocean evolution at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (which publishes ScienceNOW). The two also participated in a live chat with Science on Saturday.
