Def In a Research Article published on 19 July 2010 in ScienceExpress, Abdool Karim et al. report on the effectiveness and safety of a vaginal gel containing an antiretroviral microbicide for the prevention of HIV infection in women. An accompanying News story by J. Cohen highlights the study, which involved nearly 900 South African women in a placebo-controlled trial.
