One evening after dinner, we drove in a van from Kunming to Yuxi with a delegation of health officials to meet with sex workers and to see a new condom campaign in hotels. After more than an hour in the van, we piled out and a hotel manager escorted us into one of his suites, where a dozen of us stood and observed this box of condoms for sale by the bed. It was an oddly intimate and amusing moment. |
