AAAS/Science Awards and Prizes

Science and its publisher, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, sponsor or cosponsor a number awards recognizing achievement by scientists at all stages of their careers.

The Young Scientist Award, established and presented by Science/AAAS and GE Healthcare
Bestowed since 1995, the prize recognizes outstanding Ph.D. thesis work in molecular biology from around the world.
The Eppendorf & Science Prize for Neurobiology
Acknowledges outstanding contributions to neurobiology research based on the methods of molecular and cell biology.
Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge
International contest, jointly sponsored by Science Magazine and the U.S. National Science Foundation, with the aim of broadening "the visual and conceptual beauty of science and engineering."
The AAAS Newcomb Cleveland Prize, supported by Affymetrix
The oldest award given by AAAS, the annual Newcomb Cleveland prize has, since 1923, recognized the author or authors of the outstanding paper published in Science during the contest year.
Other AAAS Prizes and Awards
The Association also sponsors awards in the areas of scientific mentoring, cooperation, journalism, and ethics.
