This vegetable seller in Kireka, a rundown village outside Kampala, told us her husband died from AIDS in December 1998. "He had another woman of course," she says. Last October, this 32-year-old woman says she learned that she has AIDS too, as does one of her children. She says when times are good, she earns 1500 shillings--roughly $1--a day.
