Supplementary Material
The experiments were conducted on ships and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI). For the shallow experiments at 349, 430, and 905 m, we used the ROV Ventana deployed from the R/V Point Lobos. For the deep ocean release experiment at 3627 m, we used the ROV Tiburon deployed from the R/V Western Flyer. A further description of our CO2 experiments with additional images and videos can be found at http://www.mbari.org/ghgases/deep/release.htm Videos of the deep ocean (3627 m) CO2 release
