Population Diversity: Its Exent and Extinction
J. B. Hughes, G. C. Daily, P.R. Ehrlich

Supplemental Data

Species estimates of populations per unit area. The estimate is the order of magnitude of the number of populations per 10,000 km2. The taxonomic group refers to the classification in Table 1. The second to last column notes whether the species was sampled in a temperate or tropical region. The journals searched include American Naturalist, Auk, Biotropica, Canadian Entomolog, Canadian Journal of Zoology, Ecological Monographs, Evolution, Genetics, Heredity, Journal of Heredity, Journal of Mammology, Journal of Research on Lepidoptera, Oecologia, Plant Systematics and Evolution, and Systematic Zoology.
