COVER Mouse zygotes that are developing parthenogenetically (without fertilization) with a single polar body and two pronuclei. These zygotes develop into blastocysts, from which embryonic stem cells can be harvested. Such cell lines can provide a source of immunologically compatible tissues for transplantation.
