COVER The three-dimensional x-ray crystal structure of the light-sensitive protein rhodopsin, at 2.8 Å. Members of this family of seven-transmembrane helix G protein-coupled receptors detect environmental signals and transmit them to cells. The protein backbone is shown schematically with a transparent surface.
