About the Cover


Columns of neurons (dark blue) responding to a particular orientation of visual stimuli were labeled by the [C]2-deoxyglucose method in a cat with strabismus. Neurons (red dots) were labeled from a remote site sharing the same orientation and ocular dominance by transport via tangential connections.
