Re: For What Minus Sign?

I read, with not inconsiderable interest, parts of the article by J. L. Chen, C. R. Wilson, and B. D. Tapley, entitled "Satellite Gravity Measurements Confirm Accelerated Melting of Greenland Ice Sheet,” wherein appeared a statement to the effect that the estimated total ice melting rate over Greenland is –239 ± 23 cubic kilometers per year.

Well, now, if the melting rate is, indeed, negative, then is the Greenland Ice Sheet actually freezing—or, worse, growing—at the same absolute value rate?
