ELECTRONICS:
Toward Paperlike Displays

John A. Rogers

Future portable computers may resemble a pad of paper more than one of today's laptops. In his Perspective, Rogers describes recent advances that have enabled the first prototype paper electronic devices. Reaching this goal required an almost complete departure from traditional circuit manufacturing. Even wallpaper may no longer be the same when this technology becomes commercially available.
