Saving Lives With Sugar

Six years ago, Hudson Freeze noticed that cells from a slime mold showed biochemical similarities to cells taken from a child with a disorder in the way cells manipulate sugars. This chance observation led to the development of a lifesaving treatment for a rare genetic disorder.
