Automated Microarray Processing
Automated Microarray Processing
The Geniom RT Analyzer enables automated processing of microarrays on febit’s Geniom biochips. The compact device, which makes use of microfluidics, provides high sample throughput, reproducibility, and sensitivity in a variety of applications. The instrument’s programmable, precise temperature control optimizes hybridizations and enables the use of enzymatic reactions directly on the microfluidic array for signal enhancement and primer extension assays.

Materials Microscope
The Axio Scope.A1 is a flexible, high-performance modular microscope designed for routine applications in materials microscopy. The flexibility of the microscope is achieved by the availability of five different microscope upper bodies, three different lower bodies, and two Vario columns that can be combined into a customized system. The Axio Scope A.1 offers large scalability of the sample area height, which can be set for sizes up to 380 mm high. Two-position sliders, four-position reflector turrets, and six-position reflector turrets are available. Users can quickly switch between the different contrasting techniques. In addition to traditional contrasting techniques in reflected and transmitted light such as brightfield and darkfield, the instrument also is capable of innovative techniques such as differential interference contrast in circularly polarized light.

Noninterfering Protein Assay
The NI Protein Assay is a sensitive, colorimetric protein assay that overcomes interference of common laboratory agents present in protein solutions and shows minimal protein-to-protein variation. The assay requires only 0.5 µg to 50 µg protein in a sample. The assay is unaffected by the presence of common laboratory agents, such as reducing agents, chelating agents, detergents, chaotropes, and salts. It can be used to estimate protein during protein purification, electrophoresis, cell biology, molecular biology, and other research applications.

High-Volume Microplates
A range of sterile, high-volume microplates is optimized for large-scale, high-yield growth of bacteria, yeast, and mammalian or insect cell lines. They are available in a choice of well formats (24-well, 48-well, and 96-well) and well volumes (4 ml to 10 ml). They are fully compatible with automated liquid handling systems and other robotic sample processing equipment. They are manufactured from an ultrapure grade polypropylene that has zero leachates as well as excellent temperature and chemical resistance. The plate wells are rectangular with a “v” bottom to optimize sample concentration and recovery.

Sequencing Analysis Software
The latest version of NextGENe sequencing analysis software includes improved single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and insertion/deletion (indel) capabilities. It incorporates a unique condensation tool that statistically polishes the data to remove chemistry and instrument-related errors, followed by raw data sorting by a 12-base-pair anchor sequence and sequence shoulders, and assembly by further condensation cycles. The assembled sample data are then compared with a reference data bank, with SNPs and indels automatically displayed. The software can be used for data from the Illumina Genome Analyzer, Roche 454 system, and Applied Biosystems SOLiD system. It runs on low-cost, 64-bit Windows computers.

Gel Documentation System
The G:BOX EF gel documentation system produces accurate images of gels and blots stained with both visible-light and low-light emitting fluorescent dyes. It features a 16-bit, lightly cooled, charge-coupled device camera inside a light-tight darkroom, integrated to one-click GeneSnap image capture software. This makes generating images of gels and blots labeled with fluorescent dyes emitting faint or slow-developing signals both quick and simple. To visualize common fluorescent and visible dyes, such as ethidium bromide, Coomassie blue, and silver stain, the darkroom comes with Syngene’s transilluminator, white epi-illumination overhead lighting, and the NovaGlo visible light converter, which transforms the transilluminator’s ultraviolet light into visible light. Researchers can image any commercially available fluorescent dye by attaching Syngene’s computer-controlled EPI RGB lighting module and filter wheel.
