HIV/AIDS:
India Slashes Estimate of HIV-Infected People

Several years ago, India was estimated to have the largest AIDS epidemic of any country in the world. Now, after more extensive sampling, including a national household survey, the Indian government has come up with a new estimate that reduces the number of HIV-infected people by more than half.
