PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA--At the Paleoanthropology Society's annual meeting here last week, a postdoctoral researcher claimed that the shapes of the wrist bones of the diminutive human discovered on the Indonesian island of Flores are so primitive that the fossil cannot be Homo sapiens.
