ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION:
New Particulate Rules Are Anything but Fine, Say Scientists

Cutting in half the maximum amount of fine particles that people should breathe over 24 hours sounds impressive. But critics of this revision to air pollution standards, proposed last month by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, say the new daily threshold will only marginally improve public health.
