Monte Carlo Places Strong Odds on Ectopic Release

Computer modeling is an emerging tool in understanding cellular processes. Lučić and Baumeister describe new work (Coggan et al.) that combines computer simulation and experimental data to make a strong case for ectopic release of neurotransmitter at cholinergic synapses at ciliary ganglions.
