Sucrose-Free Sips Suit Acacia Ants

On page 560, ecologists report that a sucrose-degrading enzyme produced by the thorny acacia tree customizes its nectar to appeal to vicious, centimeter-long ants whose nasty bite scares off plant-eating animals and also humans.
