IOM Panel Clears HIV Prevention Study

An Institute of Medicine (IOM) panel has found no major improprieties in the conduct of a key HIV trial in Uganda to prevent mother-to-child transmission in the late 1990s, essentially validating the use of a cheap, effective, and simple anti-HIV drug: nevirapine.
