Anesthesia's Addiction Problem

SAN DIEGO--From 23 to 27 October, this California coastal city hosted more than 30,000 researchers at the annual Society for Neuroscience meeting. One group proposed that anesthesiologists may become primed for drug abuse because they chronically inhale small amounts of anesthetics that sensitize the brain's reward pathways.
