COLD SPRING HARBOR, NEW YORK--The Evolution of Developmental Diversity meeting held here 31 March to 4 April covered evolutionary, developmental, and genetic aspects of a menagerie of organisms. Japanese researchers reported that they have taken a big first step toward making one of their native fish, the medaka, a worldwide tool for genomicists.
