Perspectives

IMMUNOLOGY:
After the Toll Rush

Luke A. J. O'Neill

The family of Toll-like receptors have garnered much interest because of their ability to detect bacterial and viral molecules and to activate the innate immune response. In his Perspective, O'Neill introduces a trio of papers (Zhang et al., Heil et al., and Diebold et al.) that provide new information about how Toll-like receptors activate innate immunity.
