BIOMEDICINE: Will the Real Cholesterol Transporter Please Stand Up
Eric L. Klett and Shailesh B. Patel
The link between high plasma cholesterol and heart disease has spurred interest in understanding cholesterol homeostasis. In their Perspective, Klett and Patel shed light on new research (Altmann et al.) that identifies a putative intestinal cholesterol transport protein, a key component of the dietary cholesterol absorption pathway.
