Gamma Ray Satellite Sees Out First Year With a Bang

A year ago this week, the European Space Agency (ESA) released the first image from its new flagship gamma ray observatory, Integral. After a busy year of discovery, covering black holes, supernovas, and gamma ray bursts, ESA decided on 6 November to extend the mission for 4 years, until late 2008.
