BIOTERRORISM:
Facing a Security Deadline, Labs Get a 'Provisional' Pass

The government announced on Monday that it will grant "provisional registration certificates" this week to labs dealing with so-called select agents while the FBI completes the thousands of security checks required by a new antibioterrorism law passed last year.
