DEEP-SEA DRILLING:
Same Crew to Run New Program

A tight U.S. budget is forcing the National Science Foundation to delay improvements in the new international ocean drilling program run jointly with Japan. That means an unmodified JOIDES Resolution will return to scientific ocean drilling next June and continue 2-month drilling cruises possibly through fall 2005.
