U.N. Joins Russia's Fight to Save Western Pacific Salmon

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKIY, RUSSIA--This week the United Nations Development Programme launched a 5-year, $13 million initiative to promote habitat conservation in four major rivers here. The effort includes research funds as well as support for authorities to crack down on salmon poachers by beefing up conservation and enforcement.
