Lean Winters Hinder Birds' Summertime Breeding Efforts

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA--A new study, reported here earlier this month at the annual meeting of the Ecological Society of America, suggests that the loss of tropical wintering grounds has a ripple effect in surviving migratory songbirds that extends well into the breeding season, when the birds may be a continent away.
